Meet Zaba Simbine before tonight's Live show at 9pm on SABC 1!!

Tell us about yourself?
My full name is Zabalazile Amanda Simbine but as you know, I’m known as Zaba. I’m from Glenwood, Durban and I’m a radio presenter on East Coast Radio and the Face of Sass Diva’s New Jewellery Range. I absolutely LOVE people, so much so I speak an array of different languages (purely because I never want to go anywhere and not be able to speak to people). I’m sassy, vibrant, young and passionate about life. I walk with God and was raised by the most amazing parents any daughter could ever ask for. Essentially my parents taught me everything about my trade and groomed me into the hard working young lass I am today. I was groomed to be an entertainer from the young age of 3, and at 22 years old…it’s all paying off.

What is presenting to you?
As I said in the question above, I was groomed as an entertainer. I was a child model, sang in the choir, played clarinet in the orchestra, did ballet since I was 5 (yes…I play the clarinet and am a trained ballet dancer…weird…I know) and I’m on radio currently so TV for me was a natural progression in rounding up the brand and bringing Zaba to the South African masses.
For me it’s not just about presenting, it’s about being and entertainer. And being able to change lives. I want to show the world that impossible is just a word and inspire little girls and young women all over South Africa and eventually around the world. I was blessed with a gift, and that gift is making people happy and that is exactly what I intend to do.
The fact that I’ve gone through is still so surreal to me. If you were at the auditions you would know there were THOUSANDS of hopefuls so congratulations to Wade and Mthoko for coming this far and flying iflag yakwaZulu.

They say the media world can either make or break sosmeone how prepared are you for that?
You’ve got to stay focused. Focus is the name of the game. If you know what you want and you have your eyes on the prize, nothing will deter you. Surround yourself with positivity, when it’s all too much, speak to your parents and stay humble. It’s a formula that will never fail. But I can’t re-iterate it enough… F.O.C.U.S

Sell yourself in 10 words..
Oh damnit…wait don’t start my word count yet…I’m the girl with the eclectic smile, my name is Zaba.

Check out Zaba's confidence as she impress the judges on this live audition video... ;)

Durban wishes you the best!! Keep flying the KZN flag higher!!
Durban Has Got Talent!

Congratulations to Wade Delagey, Mthoko Mkhatini and Zaba Simbine for making Durban proud. These three young talents got through to the top 14 on LIVE auditions. The names were announced right on the show last week on friday. Friday, the 23rd of March 2012 marks the day we see all the top 14 contestants on the show.

Meet Wade Delagey before the show even starts:

Congrats for getting through to the top 14, we are all super proud of you.

Tell us about yourself?

Well my name is Wade Delagey. I'm 23 years old from Durban. Born and raised. I work for the Mr. Price Group typical white boy lol. I'm unique and outgoing I'm vibey and love learning about different cultures that South Africa has to offer.Im fluent in Zulu which makes most people look twice lol but that's not a bad thing. I embrace life and live by the word of God. I've been blessed with amazing personality and enjoy making others hin there auditing division. I have worked on radio before as a presenter on Durban Youth Radio. I'm not your appy.

What is presenting to you?

Presenting to me is a great platform for me to use my talents. I've been blessed with amazing spirit and TV gives you my inspiration from other presenters as I try and be myself and not imitate others. Being in the top 14 is amazing feeling and now I feel I get the chance to inspire others and to show others that we can live as a free country that opportunity to inspire others and I grasp my inspiration from God.Im inspired by life and don't really like todraw  Being able to speak Zulu amazes people and they feel I have broken the stigma that we still live in a apartheid era. Making it through we give me the chance to touch people's lives and will assist me to encourage others and help me put a smile on people's dial every Friday night..lol

They say media world can either make or someone how prepared are you for that?

I try and not focus on the negative side of the media and try not read many tabloids as I love to judge people for who they really are. The media is there to assist in your growth and you need to take it with a pinch of salt or a whole bag if you have to lol. But in life you get your ups and downs regardless if they come from the media or from your own friends. I'm prepared as there is a saying "If you can kneel before God, you can stand against anyone."

Sell yourself in 10 words...

4. Omg I have never been told to sell myself lol (I'm proudly South African and my dream is to make your Dreams come true) more than 10 I know..lol My English teacher would be so proud. :)

So What: Big Money, Big Dreams Stars move young lives of Durban!!

Season Two of So What: Big Money Big Dreams, whose first season was, according to the SA Advertising Research Foundation, watched by 1.4million viewers on average, moves to e.tv's 8.30pm slot on Mondays.
The high life is still on show - drinking expensive champagne straight from the bottle, being driven around in the best cars and flying around in private jets - but is far from being original.
The first episode of season two shows how the Sushi King and Gayton McKenzie plan to give back to people. The first Durban Mentorship Programme was held at Bellagio Night Club on the 22nd of February 2012. Kenny Kunene and his team arrive in Durban King Ushaka in a private jet.

In Mr K's words: this Chopper is not what I ordered

Kenny and Hydro in the private Jet on Their way to Durban

"For us, it's a normal arrangement. It's the same as a guy being left by his bus and then takes his car," Kunene says.
Once in the more spacious chopper, Kunene and hip-hop artist Hydro (signed to Kunene's record label, Nu Money) indulge in tripe, sheep's head and dumplings while McKenzie and his daughter Moloko have a vegetarian meal.
Mr Kunene was fetched by his mate Loven in this ride from King Ushaka to Bellagio Night Club

When Mr Kunene and his team arrives at Bellagio Night Club, the mentees are are already on their toes. Mentees were told to order any drink from the bar and get ready for the meeting to start. Kenny Kunene and Gayton McKenzie took turns as they spoke to young Durbanites moved, inspired, encouraged and mostly motivated about 40-50 young Durbanites. Gayton Mckenzie said that money and oxygen were the most important things in the world and that making money was the hardest thing. He also encouraged mentees to follow their dreams despite their past or despite their current bank balance. Kenny also spoke a lot about his time in prison and explained that in the past there had been alot of difficulties but they never gave up on their dreams and stood for what they believe.

Channel etv spokesman Matlapulana Ragoasha said on Sunday Times that this season would see Kunene undertaking more international business trips.

Meet the team:
Kenny Kunene AKA "The Playboy"
Ex-confidence trickster, millionaire superstar and professional partyer, Kenny Kunene is a larger-than-life character. From a life of crime and imprisonment, he is a self-made millionaire and does not apologise for his opulence and love of the finer things in life.

Kenny has an insatiable appetite for beautiful woman, which often lands him in the media. He's impulsive, smart, charismatic, and immensely quotable. Some love him, whilst others love to hate him, but Kenny thrives on the controversy particularly when he subtly can prove others wrong.

Gayton McKenzie AKA "The Bulldog"
Former bank robber and general of the 26-gang in prison, Gayton McKenzie is the business partner and "brother" of Kenny Kunene. Gayton is a ruthless businessman who is not interested in social niceties - he is a straight shooter.

Not a fan of the wild party life as Kenny is, Gayton is the hard-working, pragmatic Director of the Empire. He has no time for incompetence and cannot stand sycophancy of false humility. He is however the voice of reason and one of the few people on earth who can tell Kenny what to do.

Moloko McKenzie AKA "Glamour Girl"
Former Miss Teen South Africa, Moloko McKenzie is good looking, smart and practical. Her underlying bitchiness is not very obvious, but cross her and you will soon discover that this hard-nosed business woman is not afraid to take on any challenge.

She is not easily seduced by the glamour around her and is a role model for South African woman. Moloko is a take charge organiser who also heads the ZAR Empire marketing team. This glamour girl is definitely a force to be reckoned with!

Simon Clarke
Also known as Captain Awesome or Sizar if needs be.......
As the newest member of the ZAR Empire, Simon has proven himself over and over again. He is a streetwise, quick thinking, risk taker. When there is a problem that needs a solution, Simon is called in. He uses his know-how and unique brand of magic to compliment this all-star team.
Some say it's his exact character from which they created Brad Pitt in Oceans 11-13 and that he put sexy back in sexy... All we know for sure is he is amazing...

Nwabi Ntaka AKA Hydro
The odds were stacked against him, an ex-convict.......
Hydro made his debut appearance in Season 1. Fresh out of jail, Hydro wanted to change his life around and not resort back to his old ways. Kenny and Gayton soon spotted his natural talent and scooped up this brilliant Hip Hop artist. From living off the streets to now living life in style, Hydro is introduced to a world previously unknown to him. His beats are easily identifiable and you have young and old jamming to the positive messages of reform that his music delivers.
